If you are wanting to learn some sewing skills and to make some soft furnishings for your home, then you have come to the right place.
Scatter Cushion
We run one-day courses on how to make a pipped and zipped scatter cushion. You will be given some tips and guidance on using a sewing machine and troubleshooting on when things go wrong. You will learn how to make piping from your chosen fabric, how to make a cutting plan, pattern matching and how to insert a concealed zip. A feather cushion pad will be supplied to you, but we ask you to bring half a meter of your chosen fabric.
Boxed Cushion
We run one-day courses on how to make a box cushion. You will be given guidance and tips on how to use a sewing machine. You will learn how to measure up your existing cushion accurately, making a cutting plan, pattern matching, making a zip panel and how to complete the perfect box cushion. You can bring your own cushion, or we can supply you with a foam, wrapped, pad for this. You just need to bring 1 meter of your chosen fabric. You will go home with a professionally made box cushion and all the skills to make more of them at home.
French Mattress Cushion
We run-one day courses on how to make a French Mattress Cushion. You will be supplied with a pad and box cushion for this. You will be taught how to pin things ready for slip stitching, stitching for a hidden seam, marking up and stitching the pinched edges, how to make buttons and French linen tufts and how to insert and attach them. You will go home with a beautiful French Mattress Cushion and all the skills to make more of them at home.
Our one-day sewing courses are held on a Saturday. All dates and availability are on our timetable page or alternatively drop us an e amil or call to ask. The cost is £100 per person, and this includes lunch and refreshments.
